The Next Big Style Blogger.
Posted on February 3, 2012

Today I am here with a little bit of shameless self promotion. This afternoon I entered Refinery 29′s
competition for the next big style blogger. I would really appreciate if it you would take a few moments
to go to the website and vote for me!
Here’s how:
Visit www.refinery29.com/styleblogger
Click on the “Popular Contestants” tab.
Scroll down until you see this picture:
Click on that pretty, little heart in the top left corner.
Follow the prompt to log in through facebook.
Click “allow”.
If the page reloads and the heart is still gray, click it again and it will turn pink.
And then you’ll be done!
Thank you SO much, first of all, for reading Sidewalk Ready, and second of all, for voting. Every vote really
does matter and I really appreciate you doing me this favor in advance!

Pants Party.
Posted on February 1, 2012
I would like to extend to you an invitiation to the pants party. The … party. With the … with the pants.
Party with pants?
No further explanation needed – you’re cool,so you get that, right?
Outfit Breakdown:
Sweater: Gap / Pants: Gap (still available) / Necklace: Anthropologie / Bracelets: gift, fab.com
Shoes: Banana Republic / Purse: Nine West via Filene’s Basement
Hair:
Curled away from my face with a medium sized curling iron.
This time last year, Kai and I were getting ready to leave for our big trip to Barcelona and Kenya … and
I was wearing this bright orange cardigan thing. I’ve received a lot of compliments on here regarding
this sweater – maybe you meant it, maybe you were just being nice … either way, Banana Republic has
a similar one right now online and in stores (just saw it today) if you’re interested.
*update: and wouldn’t you know it? The orange is sold out online. I promise it’s still in stores though …
so click that above link, check out the style, trust that orange is awesome, and go to nearest BR store asap.

Why You Should Own a Chambray Shirt.
Posted on January 31, 2012
I am here on the behalf of all the chambray shirts hanging in retails stores around the world. I went
the longest time without owning a chambray shirt, and then fateful day came that I spent $60 on one
at the J.Crew Factory store. I will say this, $60 is significantly more than I will usually spend on a shirt
(for now
) but I just knew that I would wear it to death. And how right I was. Here are all of the ways
that I have worn my one chambray shirt on my blog since I purchased it at the end of September.
To view the original blog post for each look, click the picture and you will be redirected.
See! Wardrobe staple! That’s seven wears in four months – so 1.75 wears per month on the blog alone and
I blog my outfits about half of the time (sorry about that …) If you consider that, I’m probably actually
wearing this shirt between three and four times a month. This baby hardly ever makes it from the laundry
pile to the closet before it gets worn again. Anyway, if you are ready to invest, here are a couple of options
to purchase online:
Target, Urban Outfitters, Eddie Bauer, Old Navy, Banana Republic, J.Crew
Happy Shopping!

You may be surprised…but I voted for you.
is it only by popular vote? because i HATE it when they do that. also, one of the top contenders has this icon in the upper left of her actual blog that links it to the site…. i argue yours is a little too classy for this sort of thing, but you might want to check it out.
First things first, I adore your blog. Seriously, I love your style, and you are by far the best fashion blog that I follow. Secondly, I tried voting, but the log in through Facebook button doesn’t work for me for some reason. Is there another way to vote? Crossing my fingers that you win!!!
Thank you, Melanie! I’m not sure why it’s not working. I guess I would just keep trying.
Gorgeous outfit. You look lovely. And good luck gf!
