Perfect Blend.

Guess what, guys? It feels like summer! This wonderful weather has been really on and off lately but I am making a point to take outfit photos on the days that the weather is nice. This spring has taken forever to get here, and I hereby refuse to give winter weather any more features on Sidewalk Ready until this fall.  It is beyond time for it to go, and I’ve decided that ignoring the cold temperatures all together is my best defense mechanism at this point. There is a chance I might end up eating these words, but for now, that’s the plan.

This top from Daisy Rae Boutique is the perfect mix of styles for me. The bohemian pattern mixed with the classic silhouette is right up my alley, and I think it encompasses my style perfectly. I kept it simple with some streamlined black pants, but I am looking forward to wearing this top with a flared or pencil skirt next time … and you know what that means – bare legs. Dreamin’ big over here, folks. Dreamin’ big.

Earth Day.

This outfit was photographed this past Monday, Earth Day, so I feel it is only appropriate to wish everyone a happy belated. Earth Day always reminds me of warm weather and tiny pine trees. Did everyone have the pleasure of bringing home a little seedling on this day every year when they were in elementary school? I would carefully and protectively transport mine and plant it right when I arrived home. I followed all the instructions closely in hopes that my little weed of a pine tree would someday grow into something worth climbing, but each and every year it would die within a month or so. And this, my friends, is one of the reasons why I don’t have children.

Anyway, about the outfit … what says “Happy Earth Day” better than an ensemble comfortable enough to be pajamas, bohemian jewelry, and the color green? Many things, I’m sure … but Happy Earth Day, none the less.

Still waiting.

Unfortunately, we are still waiting for warmer temperatures here in Michigan, so I haven’t been able to pack away my tights just yet. As much as I would have loved to wear this dress with bare legs, freezing for the sake of fashion isn’t really my style. In conclusion: Delayed spring? Simply layer.
