Wardrobe Necessities.

I bought this sweater at Gap when I was in Chicago and I’ve pretty much worn it everyday since. I knew this would be a good purchase because I’ve had chunky sweaters on my “to buy” list. I was also drawn to the color combination and pattern. While getting ready in the morning or looking through catalogs or blog, I create a mental list of things I want to add to my wardrobe, and this has been really helpful when it comes to shopping! I’ve been longing for large sweaters to pair with a variety of bottoms. A sweater like this looks great thrown over a dress or simply with jeans, as I’ve shown here.

I’m loving rose gold right now. Can you tell? These bracelets from Outfit Additions go perfectly with my Daniel Wellington watch!

Thank you to everyone who entered the Kristine Lily Giveaway! The winner of the personalized necklace is …

Andrea!

I think this necklace would go with just about anything, but I would wear it with my new dress for the holidays that has a slight scoop neckline and with some mary janes.”

Congratulations! Please be expecting an email from me.

Engagement evening.

Wednesday night I had the honor of attending a surprise party for my friends who just got engaged. It was so fun to celebrate with them! The invitation said that the attire was  ”a step up from casual Friday”. Because of these loose guidelines, I didn’t want to get decked out in a cocktail dress, but also didn’t want to wear jeans. I thought this ensemble was the perfect step in between!

I was in Chicago for a couple of days earlier this week, and while shopping with a friend, we compiled a list of the top five trends for Fall 2012. So if you are putting together any looks that you want to be trendy, just incorporate any of the following: 1. Leather 2. Camouflage 3. Studs 4. “Oxblood” 5. Sequins – but please don’t wear them all at the same time. In this case, I chose numbers 1 and 4, and it was just the right amount of modern and classic.

It’s getting dark out so early these days so we took these pictures indoors. Welcome to the corner of my living room!

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been totally digger leather lately – both real and fake. While searching for jackets to link to, I found this little gem and snatched it up!
