Shades of brown.

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of the color black. I feel like I’ve been wearing it constantly, but I will always love the soft, natural feel of the color brown. This brown leather jacket was a major purchase for me and I am so glad I decided to invest in it. It’s perfect for a casual day where I don’t want to look too edgy. I paired it with two shades of tan and my favorite boots for an afternoon outing.

Neutral and Layered.

Although many people admit to being afraid of color when it comes to fashion, sometimes I think people are equally afraid of being too neutral. I always have a tendency to want to add a color accent in my accessories, but this day I decided to embrace the basic.

Something else I’ve always been hesitant about is mixing bright white with cream, so to push myself even further, I layered two items with these colors right on top of each other. The outcome was really clean and fresh, and surprisingly worked!

Button it up.

I’ve really been loving this fully buttoned look lately. This is the third time I’ve featured an outfit incorporating this in the past week. A little obsessed? Maybe. It feels a little conservative, a little nerdy, and a little fancy pants. Just the right combination.

I had my concerns that attempting this look with a chambray shirt could go cowboy-chic really quickly. I knew I wanted to pair it with the Enchanting Three necklace from Le Mode. (By the way, how pretty is that green color?) Even though I had an inkling it would really add to the western feel, I was convinced it could still be a successful combination if I added some girly elements. This wool cardigan and these black heels dressed the look up just enough that it didn’t feel too costume-y.
