Friday Favorites are back! There’s a good chance they are going to look a little different for awhile. I recently made the decision to deactivate my personal facebook (it was a long time coming). Without my newsfeed, the types of things I would normally discover through my friends and acquaintances are in short supply. So what I’m left with are the things that I seek out myself. Music – photos – quotes – poems – books. So that’s what you’re going to be getting. Here are my self-discovered favorites. I hope you like to read.
An old favorite. Came on shuffle this morning and really hit the spot. These lyrics, you guys. These lyrics.
This is important.
’bout time I read this one.
“My face set to a grim and determined expression. I speak in all modesty as I say this, but I discovered at that moment that I have a fierce will to live. It’s not something evident, in my experience. Some of us give up on life with only a resigned sigh. Others fight a little, then lose hope. Still others – and I am one of those – never give up. We fight and fight and fight. We fight no matter the cost of battle, the losses we take, the improbability of success. We fight to the every end. It’s not a question of courage. It’s something constitutional, an inability to let go. It may be nothing more than life-hungry stupidity.”- Yann Martel
“I am eternally, devastatingly romantic, and I thought people would see it because ‘romantic’ doesn’t mean ‘sugary.’ It’s dark and tormented – the furor of passion, the despair of an idealism that you can’t attain.” – Catherine Breillat
But, oh, I love this photo. (source)
Beginning. Middle. End.
