On repeat.

“You Are Not Blair Waldorf”

The whole article is good but my favorite excerpt:

“Just because two people are capable of deeply hurting each other over and over again does not make them passionate, star-crossed lovers. It makes them two people who keep doing terrible things to each other. Someone’s ability to make you completely and utterly soul-crushingly miserable does not mean they are a soul mate with some deep insight into your psyche. They are just ┬ásomeone who is really good at making you unhappy.”

Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Seen the movie a handful of times, just now reading the book.

“I knew damn well I’d never be a movie star. It’s too hard; and if you’re intelligent, it’s too embarrassing. My complexes aren’t inferior enough: being a movie star and having a big fat ego are supposed to go hand-in-hand; actually, it’s essential not to have any ego at all. I don’t mean I’d mind being rich and famous. That’s very much on my schedule, and someday I’ll try to get around to it; but if it happens, I’d like to have my ego tagging along. I want to still be me when I wake up one fine morning and have breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

Oh I love Truman Capote! And that poem was amazing. I don’t ever read poetry unless it’s there in front of my face, but holy did I ever enjoy that one. Thank you :-)
