This look was photographed a few days before I left on my trip, and I never had an opportunity to get it posted. I was reminded that these photos existed because I am wearing this skirt again today, but this time with a more casual, heather gray tank. I purchased this leotard for a ballet class I took a few summers ago and I thought it was about time it got a blog spotlight!
Being back in Grand Rapids has been bittersweet. I have easily settled back into my normal routine. It’s been wonderful to be around my family and the friends that didn’t accompany me on the trip, to relax in the comfort of my home, and to have access to more than just a duffel bag of clothes. I miss the feeling of being across the country where I know no one, the experience of walking around a corner and not knowing what is going to be on the next street, and excitedly selecting new items off of menus from restaurants I’ve never eaten at before.
I suppose this is the beauty of travel. Exploring an unknown place is overwhelmingly inspiring. It had been awhile since I ventured outside of Michigan and I had developed a huge appetite for adventure. On this trip I consumed city after city, and when I arrived home I entered into a comfort coma – similar to the kind that you experience after a huge meal. I’ve been tired, subdued, and really valuing my alone time. It’s now been over a week since I returned, and I feel like I’m slowly waking back up. I think I am ready to enjoy this city, Grand Rapids, again.
