I really try my best not to discuss mundane topics such as the weather on here. I know it’s boring, but in all seriousness, it’s been kind of consuming my blog schedule lately. It seems like we have been in a state of constant downpour here in Grand Rapids. This makes it practically impossible to take photos for a couple of reasons: first of all, for the obvious reason that being outdoors is unpleasant in general – second of all, because my motivation to get cute is greatly affected by the weather.
Today it snowed. Huge, wet, disgusting flakes of white cascaded out of the sky and soaked me completely as I walked back to my car after eating brunch downtown. Fortunately, I wore what I like to consider my socially acceptable lounge clothes, so at least I was in a state of comfort as soon as I dried off.
I like to save most of these items for around-the-house type days where I am not planning on leaving, but if I needed to, it wouldn’t be necessary to completely change my clothes. Aside from the benefit of having wearable lounge clothes, something else you can take away from this post is to try layering similar colors on top of one another. I’m wearing more pink than I’m typically used to, but this top and cardigan happen to be two of my most comfortable items of clothing, and after pairing them together, I actually liked the color combination. I completed the look by pulling back my dirty hair and adding other elements of comfort: leggings, moccasins, and a soft, chunky scarf.
