There has been a little change around here … my hair color. I’m embracing the small portion of my Irish heritage and sporting red locks again. I actually went and had my hair done at a salon this time! Even though I’m a hairstylist, sometimes it’s still fun to be pampered – and get another stylist’s perspective. (pssst. Thanks, Nicole – I love it!)
I’ve mentioned this before, but one item of clothing I’m keeping my eye out for lately are pants that aren’t blue denim. Now that I’m working from home, I can see myself easily falling in a jeans-everyday style rut and I’m doing my best to avoid it. These cords from PB&J Boutique fit perfectly into my wardrobe and I absolutely love the color and fit. New favorite!
Another new thing: This boyfriend sweater from Tailor and Stylist! The boxy fit makes it ideal for a casual day off, and I’m such a sucker for elbow patches. Per usual, I couldn’t help but add an extra layer. Chambray shirt to the rescue! Have I convinced you to invest in one of these yet?

I am so loving this casual look! I wish I could have elbow patches on everything. I’ve seen a few DIYs on Pinterest for it. Maybe I’ll have to try it on my striped sweater!

Oooh thats the sweater I had picked for the giveaway entry!! I’ve been dying for a sweater with elbow patches! But when I find one I like they never seem to have my size.
Beyond lovin’ this look and your new hair!
I love the hair color on you! It looks so good!

So cute! I had to have it! Just ordered it, and luckily I already have that same JCrew chambray shirt to layer it with!
You make me want to dye my hair.
I bought a chambray shirt almost a year ago, and sure enough, I could easily wear it everyday. There’s literally nothing better for layering over dresses and tanks, and under sweaters and blazers (and dresses, and tanks, and ANYTHING).
Love the outfit! Especially the colored jeans. What a great goal to continue to find colored denim so the good ol blue jeans doesn’t get too old.

This looks great on you! I have tried to dye my naturally dark blonde (highlighted to lighter blonde) hair to this shade of red twice now – both times in a salon. Both times it looks great like yours, but doesn’t last through more than 3 washes, despite using sulfate free shampoo for colored hair. Any tips on maintaining the look? I love this hair color!
Red is tricky. It definitely fades the fastest! I think it takes a couple of glazes with demi permanent color to get my hair to really accept it. It does still fade though. I also use Pureology Nanoworks shampoo/conditioner, and try to go as long between washes as possible!
Red hair is a Scottish thing- not Irish! Trust me- i’m from there. Think of Disney’s Brave. It looks lovely on you though. Really love the sweater.
You’re right! It’s the most common in Scotland but the next country with highest percentage of redheads is Ireland.
I was sold with the stripes! I like the new color. I think it’s fun to change it up!
such a fantastic english school look! oxfords, elbow patches, and a great classic watch!
love when you find a great pair of fitting pants!

Yes, I have to say you deserve all the credit for my buying a chambray top several months ago. So many uses! Thanks again girl~

Red hair always looks so great on you, and I particularly love this version, with the blonde strands mixed in. Gorgeous.
estas muy guapa, me gusta tu nuevo color de pelo.
This color is GORGEOUS on you. It looks like it has a little touch of ombre, too? So pretty!
Casual, yet polished. Fantastic!

Yesss! I love your hair!! That is exactly what I want to do with my color once it’s long. I’ve always had red, but I’ve wanted the reddish blond instead for a long time.
Love how you pull off the menswear trend without looking manly! I think I better wait until my hair grows out a bit more to give it a go. Sigh.
Love your new color and your gorgeous curls!
Blessings!

I love your look today, and most days actually! Long time reader here, first time commenting!
The new hair colour looks wonderful on you, you already had gorgeous skin, but this colour really makes your complexion glow. I wondered if you could share any tips on how your colour was done? I really love the graduation of dark to light that you have going on from root to tip!
Thank you! It is a solid all over color on the new growth that was combed down a bit into the mid strand. Then that same color was placed in foils as a low light throughout. Afterwards, everything was toned with a faint red shade.
I love the new hair color! Looks amazing!

I love that hair color. My hair is naturally red-ish and I’ve been thinking about going back… Also, gorgeous sweater, I might be purchasing it now.
I always love how you do your hair! My curling iron just died.. any suggestions of a good one that is reasonably priced?
Hot Tools is my favorite brand!
I have this exact sweater from a local Baton Rouge boutique and blogged it today! Awkward blogger moment?
Your hair looks beautiful! I love the color!
I really love your hair that colour! I’ve definitely fallen into a jeans everyday kind of rut. It’s bad

I really like the new hair. I think it really suits you. The outfit is great, as always. Love those shoes!
As a natural redhead myself, I think your new hair looks great! I love wearing green teal and bright blue turquoise colours to really make the red “ping” but am looking forward to seeing how it looks with your colour choices.
And, yes, I have finally succumbed to a chambray shirt – I am in the UK and got this one from New look: http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/tops/navy-popper-front-pocket-denim-shirt_255880842
I am experimenting wearing it with different things and especially love it under a jumper as you have done here. One thing I have found it that it needs a fairly thick/chunky jumper on top or else the jumper doesn’t lie very flat over the shirt and you can see the outline of the breast pockets and buttons underneath.
