When it comes to staying warm in the winter, wool can work wonders. I could wear a blazer instead of a heavy coat since my sweater is wool. I have been wearing this regularly. It’s absolutely a staple in my wardrobe. I have my eye out for other relaxed fit sweaters that I hopefully will love just as much!
Another recent staple in my wardrobe: items with monograms. I’ve been obsessing a little lately. In this look I’m wearing a monogrammed pashmina and bracelet – and stay tuned for another monogrammed item below. See? What did I tell you? Obsessed. Monograms are timeless, and make items so personal. I love the idea of giving monogrammed gifts this holiday season!
The only thing I might have benefitted from during this photo session would be a waterproof jacket. Earlier in the day, it was snowing beautiful, fluffy flakes, and I had my heart set on that atmosphere for the photos. Instead, what we got was horizontal, wet hail. Not exactly what I had in mind …
I absolutely love that the bracelet above is monogrammed in black. It really shows the detail off! I know this will be something I wear over and over again. (Other bracelet designs available here.) Also, how beautiful is the rose print on this pashmina? It’s so romantic and soft! (Other scarf designs available here.)

It’s snowing up in Grand Rapids?!?! Ahh jealous!
Love this outfit though! I’d be all about a blazer warm enough to kind of double as a winter coat. Love this look!

I love the fit of your jeans!
Really pretty, Kayley. Lovely soft colors and the scarf is just beautiful!
When I see monograms I always think of class. Maybe it is because average people wouldn’t waste money monograming their socks or towels (though this is not the case today that old view still holds my mind). I also love wool and you are right wool is all you need. A wool sweater with a pair of wool socks and if cold enough some tights under your jeans and at least here in Indy you are good to go.

You are so brave for doing this photo shoot in the snow – every time we’ve attempted this, I have my eyes closed in every shot and look flat-out miserable. Also love the idea of monogrammed gifts for people and this scarf is perfect

I love the bracelet! I wouldn’t have noticed the monogram on your scarf if you didn’t point it out. It matches perfectly. You look frozen btw!
i really love the softness of this look – and the monogrammed scarf is great!
What do you use/do to weatherproof your camera when taking shots outside in wet weather like that? Just curious.
And you look fabulous, as usual.
We have a lens hood that protects that glass and a really good towel waiting the car.
That second photo is one of the most beautiful photos that has made it on to your blog! And it makes me miss Michigan.
Thank you! And to think, it almost didn’t make it. I took the chance of getting scolded by Kai … he doesn’t like it when hair is in front of people’s eyes. Haha
I LIVE in wool in the winter. It really amazing how warm it is!
