Day leather.

Don’t be deceived by that title, these aren’t real leather pants. Kai actually calls them my wader pants because they feel more like rubber than anything. Last time I wore these, I styled them out for evening, but a couple days before Christmas, I decided to wear them more casually for some last minute shopping. The jacket on the other hand – real leather, and I love it. I’d also like to mention that I finished my Christmas shopping well before the actual holiday. I was assisting my mom, who was a slacker this year.

To dress these pants down, I wore a lot of layers and flat shoes. The tee that I’m wearing underneath is actually turned inside out because there is a pattern on the outside. I am in the market for some long, comfy tees but am struggling to find some I really like. Any suggestions?

I’ve been wearing this necklace nearly every day since I received it. It’s so simple and pretty!

The red faux leather pants are super cute, and I loved them dressed down this way!
Here’s an option if you are looking for longer tops that cover your bum in winter: trendy top. They are these tube-top type things they sell on TV that sit on your around your hips and cover your butt. They sell them in drugstores now. You can wear a regualr top and then this thing and stay fully covered and layered. Just a thought!

  2. ahhh i can see why you wear that necklace all the time – it’s gorgeous!! and those pants!! this is the perfect way to dress them down. love it, kayley!

I used to work at a screenprinting shop, and I swear by both American Apparel tri-blend unisex tees and Alternative Apparel unisex or ladies. They are both the softest I have found and they are fitted without that clingy juniors-fit look.

  5. Love the neutral palette here and this is some excellent use of layers. I recommend StyleMint or Pickwick & Weller for great slouchy/longer length tees (similar to T by Alexander Wang, but much cheaper)! :)

Did you just tell the whole SWR world that I was a slacker this year?! Yep. I just went back and re-read it. This does not bode well for your 2013 Christmas. I’m already feeling the beginnings of extreme slackishness coming over me :)

I wish I could look bad ass. Like the chick from underworld. She’s hot in her molorcycte jacket and leather pants!Though that only works for ladies. Sometimes I go to bars and I see guys in those neon molorcycte jackets and I laugh. I mean, that’s your “nice” jacket for going out? :S

I just bought some long-sleeve tees at J.Crew the other day- great sale- only $2.78 each. Good basics that will last a while and can be dressed up super easily.

I love the colour of these pants, esp with the cream/brown/salmon kind of pallette. It makes them more relaxed and shabby-chic looking…but they could also be dressed up with black for a night out. Really cute!
