The blazer in today’s post is one that I purchased while shopping in Ann Arbor a couple of weekends ago. I found it on the sale rack and was really drawn to the fabric. I’ve seen bouclé blazers on others and have always loved them, so I thought it was time to get one myself. I’ve seen others, but was never quite sold. I chose this blazer in particular because the chiffon trim detail, as well as the asymmetrical hemline, really made this item feel special. It definitely has enough character to carry on outfit on it’s own.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve becoming increasingly picky. I no longer will buy things that I think are just “okay”. I buy things that I will be excited to wear – whether it be because of a unique detail, an amazing fit, or even just something that fills a gap in my existing wardrobe.
Because I wanted this item to take center stage, I made the rest of my ensemble really neutral. Jeans, a staple white blouse, and coordinating heels complimented it so well. In the evening, I swapped the blouse for a tank, and the purse for a clutch. Perfect for a girls night out!

p.s. Man, my new growth is getting bad. My hairstylist friend that I swap services with recently had ankle surgery and I’m patiently waiting for her to be back on her feet (literally). Until then, enjoy my ashy roots and wish Michelle a fast recovery!
p.p.s. My iPhone 5 arrived yesterday and since making the switch from a Droid X, I am now on Instagram! Follow me here.
