Jenny’s Curl Confession

I’m excited to share a little bit more about Paul Mitchell’s Truth About Curls campaign with you today! As I mentioned in my introductory post, I don’t have curly hair so I chose to distribute the products I received from Paul Mitchell to a few of my curly haired clients.

Jenny is one of my long time curly haired clients and I immediately thought of her when I decided to take this route in order to discuss the new product line. Last week I got together with her to hear her Curl Confession and to get her opinion on the products I gave her to sample.

Jenny had the opportunity to try the Spring Loaded Detangling Shampoo and the Full Circle Leave-In Treatment. The Spring Loaded Detangling Shampoo is intended to clean, detangle and condition, while being gentle on the hair cuticle in order to prevent frizz. The Full Circle Leave-In Treatment is a lightweight leave-in conditioner that hydrates, fights frizz and prevents damage.

I am SO happy that curl creams are becoming more popular. I have naturall curly/wavy hair and it’s super dry. I have always looked for a rich cream product to leave-in to keep in hydrated but I always was recommended serums and oils, which honestly just don’t hydrate the same! I have been using Moroccan oils Curl Cream and really like it but I will definitely try this one out next! xx

Oh these sound great – I have naturally wavy hair, and it would be cool to have something to put in to make them a little more bouncy!

I used the leave-in conditioner and twirl around curl definer and let it air dry yesterday. My hair was crunchy. I think it’ll take a bit of experimenting to find the right combo and / or amounts for me. However, even though my hair was crispy, when I took a curling iron to it I got the softest, most defined curls I have ever gotten. So, perhaps the “twirl around” might be best when using heat styling tool? I don’t know. I have some experimenting to do.

Also, I used the “twirl around” (alone) on my daughter’s hair this a.m. She said that she liked the way her curls turned out today.

I would try using a little less of the “twirl around” and either diffusing it, or scrunch it as it dries. I think manipulating the hair as it dries helps break up the product a bit. I’m happy to hear you really liked it when using the curling iron. That’s a great suggestion. I’ll be sure to recommend it to my girl who is testing the product out!
