On Wednesday night I went out to a local event called the Fashion Force Challenge. Twelve designers competed to win the title of ArtPrize Ambassador. I mentioned this before, but ArtPrize is an awesome competition that takes place every year in Grand Rapids. Anyone can enter their artwork and it is displayed indoors and outdoors throughout downtown. The winner is determined by popular vote and they win a huge chuck of change. I look forward to this event every year!
I headed to the Fashion Challenge with my fellow blogger friends Tieka and Blair! We had a blast watching the runway show and then we headed out for lettuce wraps at The Winchester afterwards. I had never been there before (I know, I’m the worst Grand Rapidian ever) but I loved it!
I thought this was the perfect opportunity to show you all the type of thing that I wear when I go out! It’s normally dark by the time I leave the house for a night on the town but this event didn’t begin until 7pm so we stil had some daylight to work with. A blazer with a skirt or shorts is typically my evening staple, then I add a sassy pair of heels and I’m good to go!

Those shoes! Fabulous! But I do love this whole look. Seriously classy.
Kayley, random question: Do you own an accordion pleated skirt? If so, have you ever worn it on the blog? Can you point me to the post(s)?
I am obsessing about them at the moment because they are so my style and, funnily enough, are apparently on-trend lately. Who knew? (I don’t really keep up on trends.)
I don’t! I actually tried one on recently but didn’t buy it because kai said I looked like a cheerleader. try pairing it with a blousy tank. printed is fun or solid would work for color blocking!
This is the perfect outfit!
