Upside down french braided bun tutorial.

I wasn’t planning on doing a tutorial for this look but I got such a great response from yesterday’s post that I thought it was a good idea! I would just like to clarify that this is NOT an original look of mine. I’ve definitely seen this done before so I don’t want to take credit for it, this is simply a tutorial!

As I mentioned in my post from yesterday, this something I used to do with my hair a lot while I was growing it out and the bottom layers wouldn’t quite reach a normal top knot. That being said, if your hair is a little shorter, you might need to do some pinning and extra hair spraying to keep those pieces from falling out of the braid!

Alright, so this is the final look:

and here is the tutorial:

I hope you give this look a try! Thanks for watching!

After seeing this on your blog yesterday I totally did it this morning! It’s still a quick style for those late mornings, but looks a little nicer than just throwing my wet hair on top of my head :)

  2. Yay! You did it! I am so happy because I loved this hairstyle so much! Normally, I don’t watch tutorials because I am so inept at doing my hair and makeup but you made this look easy! I’m gonna have to try it when I get motivated enough to straighten my hair again. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

  3. Absolutely beautiful, and thank you for the tutorial!

Great tutorial. Can I ask what that tattoo says? I know it’s in Hebrew but I only recognize the first word as God’s name. Thanks!

I actually do this to my daughter and my niece (the braid stay put better than a regular ponytail for play at school and home) but i am going to try it myself this weekend! Btw I think you should add what your tattoo says to you FAQ LOL!

It sounds silly but I am 32 years old and have always wanted to know how to do a french braid. Your video explains it perfectly for me and helped me to realize what step I was missing. I tried this but I did it with dry hair-I will try it with slightly damp hair to see if it works better for me. Thanks so much for the videos!
