Today was unexpectedly busy. After my morning run, I got news that my friend Michelle had her first baby! I finished up a bunch of things at home, and while Kai and I grabbed lunch, we stopped at Buy, Buy, Baby and I bought their new son, Travis, a little, blue teddy bear. When I was born, the first thing my dad did was run out and buy me a pink teddy bear that was put in my little hospital bed. My mom says it’s because he wanted everyone to know I was a girl.
I called him “Cuddly Bear” and he was always my favorite growing up.
Fortunately, this evening I had the chance to go to the hospital to see Michelle, Jeff and Travis. He was a couple weeks early and he was still so small – just 5 lbs! I am so excited to be at the time in my life where my friends will be starting families. Babies are so fun!
How cute is this little Chevron necklace? I just received this from Bella Lina Designs and I know I will wear it all the time! Links in the outfit breakdown below …

Thanks for riding bikes to dinner with me.
I’m obsessed with your mint green belt! My favorite spring color.

You look so chic! Congratulations to your friend – how exciting
I was around 5 pounds when I was born and my mom says she couldn’t get over how tiny my legs were…she called them “bird legs”!
By the way, delighted to have found your blog. It’s always good to find another Grand Rapids girl

Look at how pretty you look! I have three kids and I had them at a very young age, but now all of my friends are catching up. It’s fun to look back at how tiny (and quiet!) my kiddos used to be. I love your mint belt and your polka dots and stripes! Have a great weekend!
How pretty you look today, my Kayley! Do you remember that your dad also had a tiny, 14K gold bracelet cut down for you from an adult size to wear when you were born? He didn’t want anything permanent like earrings but wanted people to know you were a girl. Maybe that’s why you wear bracelets everyday still today
Love this outfit, especially the striped skirt and the mint colored belt. I am so excited to see that you are wearing the chevron necklace! It looks lovely on you, Kayley and works so well with the pieces you paired with it!
yummy, luuuv the shoes the best!
are those pics taken at M.B. elementary? probably not but as my dad was principal since it was built i feel like i would recognize those pillars anywhere
wow! I’m really impressed. yep, they were taken at meadow brook!
I saw the title and thought you were about to announce your pregnancy. Don’t scare me like that!
hahaha. I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t hoping I would trick at least one person. Please, Kyle. You know when I get pregnant you won’t be finding out via the blog!

Oh I love the subtle color palette in this, with that hint of mint and the tans! You pulled it off very well–I can’t pull off subtle if my life depended on it! The mixed patterns on the top and skirt are super fun, too. I love this look!
Very nice, I like the shoes as well. Everything fits together very well.
