Would you believe me if I said …

I picked this dress up yesterday afternoon and fortunately, it was 80 degrees today so I got to wear it! It feels like I’m back in Florida – I’m even hot in this blazer! Yes, I said I was going to wear another one today. :)

Would you believe me if I said this dress was from Anthropologie?

Outfit Breakdown:
Blazer: Gap / Dress: Gap Kids (still available) / Belt: Thrifted / Earrings: Gift / Shoes: Banana Republic

Hair:
Curled away from my face with a 1.5″ curling iron.

Yep, Gap Kids. Check that out. And I had my hair highlighted last night. Check that out.

When I originally went blonde, I had it lightened all over, but for the sake of a more natural grow out, I opted for a heavy highlight this time, which is why my roots are still a touch darker. I know some women can’t stand the look of roots, but I have to be honest, I like it better with a shadow effect … so hopefully I can just stick with a heavy highlight and it’ll require less maintenance!

Are any of you going to switch up your hair color for the upcoming summer? I have a lot of clients that like to tweak their hair color formulas based on the season!

The hair and the dress are beautiful! I noticed the blonder highlights immediately! I love changing it up for spring! My BFF is a hair stylist, so I just do whatever she wants because I know it will be amazing. Think we are gonna do some peek-a-boo color underneath and heavy bangs! Yay for spring!

Yes, I would have believed you if you said the dress was from Anthropologie! You have a great eye – that dress looks perfect! I might have to go get it for myself!

    And I love the highlights!

Love the outfit! And I absolutely change my hair with the seasons. However I’m at a dark blonde right now (I just touched it up the other day) which is pretty much my natural color, but now that its so warm, I want to lighten it up! I can’t get over how warm its been the past couple days!

Highlights and dress look great, and the fourth photo down is absolutely gorgeous. What camera and lens are you shooting with?

i LOVE that dress. I believed it was from Anthro. So beautiful! I am thinking of changing my hair colour. My hair is auburn but I like it more reddish. I dont know which type of colouring technique is better for that. Any suggestions? I love your blog: is so soft and warm and the photos are amazing! I love the heavy highlights on you. They suit you very well :)

It totally depends on how dark/light your hair is now and how dark/light you want it to be when you’re done. The way to add more red is to color it with a red color, but you might need to deposit color only if you don’t want to go lighter, or lift and deposit, if you do want to go lighter. I would definitely recommend getting it professionally done! Reds always look better when done in the salon. :)

Love this blog, love the dress. What would you recommend size-wise if one were to order Gap Kids sizes online??

80 degrees? that’s so lucky! i live in newfoundland, canada, and it’s still freezing here (negative degrees in celsius). i can’t wait to start wearing spring dresses without tights : )
your highlights are amazing! i have super dark brown hair and have been dying it for such a long time, but i’m trying to let it fade out to my natural lighter-brown color.
    love the blog!!

I definitely believed you when you said the dress was from Anthropologie!

Also, I love the highlights, but you have great hair and seem to be able to pull off any colour. I’m going through that “what to do with my hair” struggle right now. I’ve been very dark before and my hair has been lighter the last few years. The issue is have is that my hair is so dark naturally that even when I have my highlights done, I still have lots of super dark roots. I’m not sure if this is because my hair colourist isn’t doing a great job, or if I should be asking for something else!

    What a beautiful lace dress!

I love how you wear kids’ clothing every now and then. I’m in my 20s and have a very petite figure, so everyone always asks me if I buy clothes from the girls’ department. I get embarrassed sometimes, but you show me that it’s nothing to be ashamed of if the clothing is cute!

By the way, I love your blog! I check it everyday for styling tips. You’re doing a great job with this site! (:

  12. love the new blog layout. and that dress!

This is such a cute dress and from the kids section, you lucky one!! I am so looking for a lace dress right now. Hope to find a similar one soon. Am lightening my hair as well right now. Had it black for so long but am opting for a more chocolate brown now. It’s been a process, but I am slowly getting there!
