Okay, so I realize that wearing bright colors isn’t that abnormal for most people, but when given the choice
between a neutral and a color, approximately 85.75% of the time I’ll go for the neutral. So when presented
with choice of buying this skirt in gray and pink, I thought I’d push myself a bit and buy the pink … and
I’m really glad I did. I love this skirt and it pairs really well with the rest of my primarily neutral wardrobe.

Outfit Breakdown:
Shirt: J.Crew / Skirt: Gap (available online and in stores) / Necklace: Purchased in Lamu (similar)
Shoes: Joan & David via Macy’s
Hair:
Wrapped away from my face with a small curling iron. Twisted back bangs and pinned.
The reviews on this skirt says that it runs big, which is definitely true. However, the size I normally wear didn’t
come in with the first shipment so I tried it on in a size up. I ended up buying it because I kind of liked that
it was a slouchy, relaxed fit. Plus, it’s a great length with heels since it sits lower on my hips.

Your necklace is gorgeous! I love the blue color and delicate detailing.
HAHAHHA my entire wardrobe consists of black, grey, dark purple, or white…that is it…haha I have tried wearing bright colors…just does not look so great on me..haha
I love your skirt though, it is really pretty.
Beautiful color and beautiful outfit
So beautiful! I love that pink on you.
what an amazing skirt! I love the color, the fit, the length, everything! You look awesome and made the right choice there!!! What I would give for a gap near me!!!
Love the skirt/outfit!
I own almost that same skirt! It’s from Zara. I love the color, you should go out of your comfort zone more often — you’re rocking it!

actually, I think I subconsciously copied her! love it!
Such a pretty skirt! You’ll totally be able to rock it year round.
Ohhhh! I spotted that skirt last weekend while out shopping with my husband. It is absolutely gorgeous and such a beautiful pink color!!
Love, Leigh
thanks, leigh! it’s definitely eye-catching.
I just broke into the world of maxi skirts. Did a similar thing… opted for GREEN over a neutral (admittedly, it is a sage-ish green… not TOO far from a neutral, but still, a little outside of my box). Got it for a holiday party at work. I was complimented on it all night
. I love this outfit you’re wearing. ALSO: I’m coming home for the holidays and I’m thinking about getting my hurr did while I’m in GR! I’m thinking a little shorter and redish. Any availability?
hey, i consider green outside of the neutral relm! it definitely is for me at least. i’d love to see you when you’re home! I have availability for cut/color after Christmas. give the salon a call! 340-3343
that pink looks good with your skin tone. and your new hair color.
thanks, pia!
red and pink, who knew??
What a stunning skirt, & outfit for that matter, I absolutely love this from head-to-toe!! And Kayley, great job on the office re-vamp too, beautiful – it’s like it’s right out of the page of a Pottery Barn catalog! xo
Thanks, Veronika! We are so glad to have it done!
Hi there!
I came over here from Feathers and Freckles, and I’m so glad I did! You just seem so… so… effortlessly stylish… and sweet! I have been creeping… err… enjoying your blog for about half an hour, so I just had to say “hi” – HI!! *waves*
I love this pink and white outfit – pink and white is one of my all-time favorite color combos, just behind pink and black. Have you ever done any pink and black outfits?
Oh, and what does the tattoo on the back of your neck mean?
xo
kat
Hi Kat! Glad you found my blog.
I love pink and white, too. I also wear pink and black but normally with more of a pale pink. The tattoo means “The Lord Who Loves”. Thanks for asking!
I just found your blog through Feathers and Freckles and I have to say, it is lovely! Your style is so sweet and charming, I love it! Definitely following now!

Thanks, Lauren! Nice to meet you and thanks for following!
My oh my are you adorable! So glad I found you at Feathers & Freckles. I flipped through a few pages & I’m hooked! I’m always on the hunt for fashionable ladies who fit my style (& price range for clothes) because I’m quite fashion-challenged. Plus, I live in Salt Lake City & I need to follow more bloggers who live in the snow for outfit ideas! Anyway, I’m glad you got the pink too – super cute & looks great on you!
Aw, thanks Jen! I am going to be in Salt Lake in February for a wedding!
i love this look! it’s something i would never choose for myself, but wish i would. great choice on the pink.
Thank you! Sometimes it pays off to take risks.
I’m the same way when it comes to picking colors and I usually pick the safest color. But you are so brave choosing that pink! I love how you styled it simply with the white top. You look amazing and I can’t wait to see how else you remix this skirt.
Thanks, Jenn! Glad you found my blog!
Ah, I do the same thing! I guess maybe I just think my hair is out-of-the-box enough, haha
there is definitely such a thing as being over the top!
