It drives Kai crazy when I slyly drop hints whether it be for things that I want to own, things I want to be
done, or anything, really. I’m really good at just throwing out statement like “I could really go for some
grape juice right now …” or “Shanty, go get me some ice cream” or “I love this perfume … just in case, ya
know, someone wants to get it for me.” I feel like it’s better to express what I want without actually asking
because when you ask it’s harder for Kai to say “no”. Makes sense to me.
This afternoon I was sitting on the floor of the dining room with Shanty and Epworth … well, it’s supposed
to be the dining room but doesn’t have anything in it but a buffet. It’s a work in progress, okay? Anyway,
there I was with the muppets and Kai was in the next room working. I said very loudly “The whole family except
for Kai is in the dining room and we all have very soft bellies!” hoping that that would lure the missing family
member into the dining room … fail.
I guess my soft belly isn’t very enticing. Maybe it’s because I had my annual girly doctor appointment today
(yeah, that one. Blech.) and I was marked with someone else’s scent. Guys have the ability to pick up on
that right? Like wild animals?
I knew it.
Outfit Breakdown:
Top: J.Crew Factory Store / Pants: Gap / Shoes: Gap Outlet / Necklace: Gift
Hair:
I’ve been using Paul Mitchell sea salt spray the last few posts to give my updos more texture. Simply dry
most of the way, spray in, and then finish drying.
This look was finished by pulling the hair into a ponytail, backcombing, then twisting into a bun and
pinning. Perfection not necessary!
You are going to be seeing a lot of these little ankle booties the next week or so. We are going to be out
of town photographing a wedding in Vermont and then doing some travelling afterwards to celebrate
the end of the spring-fall wedding season! Because of the weight limitations with flying, shoes are one of the
things I pack lightly. I am bringing a pair of city flats, loafers, and then these boots!
Tomorrow will be a day of travel so maaaybe I’ll be back Friday. K? See ya then.
- Kayls.
p.s. Kai, if you’re reading this, someone has to get dinner.

Your hair looks especially good, here! Love your button-down, too

LOL I do that all the time. Passive aggressive is the name of my game. Boo-ya! I love this look on you. So simple, yet so chic!
Someone has to get dinner, indeed.
I want that top! so versatile. And I’ll have to try out the Paul Mitchell spray–I’ve heard good things about the Bumble & Bumble kind, but can never find it in local stores! Do you know where I can find the Paul Mitchell kind?
I would suggest calling local salons and asking if they carry the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Ginger line. The sea salt spray is great!
Love the hair. Would you mind if I asked what your tattoo means??
not at all! it means “The Lord Who Loves”.
I drop hints all the time and get asked “why don’t you just ask?!?!” haha. I empathize with you!
Kai’s words exactly.
You’re so good at keeping a bun just messy enough, not too much. Im a fan of the bun as well and have been trying to perfect the double bun I saw you do awhile ago. Thanks for the inspiration.
your tattoo is adorable girl, and so is your entire outfit. lovin’ your style!
