It wasn’t really warm enough for bare legs today … but this was something I didn’t figure out
until I walked out of the door. At that point I felt commited.

We walked through that house today. It’s not the one for us. The search continues … casually.
And my Realtor told me that the fact that I’m super picky and change my mind all of the
time isn’t annoying. So that makes me feel better too. I still think I’m a pain.

It was cloudy and chilly and because of the clouds, Kai wanted to wait until this evening to
take the pictures. And then we had to go to our friend’s for The Office. This was mandatory.
Will Ferrel made his debut. That was the only reason we went. That and the puppy chow. Certainly
not for the company.

Outfit Breakdown:
Sweater: Urban Outfitters / Dress: Delia’s / Necklace: Purchased in Grand Cayman / Shoes: Target

As the weather gets warmer, you will start to notice my outfit breakdown list getting shorter.
This is because I will be wearing less clothes. That sounds bad. I will be wearing fewer
clothing items? Still sounds bad. I won’t be layering as much. Ding ding ding! Yes, I won’t be
layering as much.

Who wants free jewelry? You do. Enter the Carolee giveaway and you could win some. It’s
really pretty, I promise. Oh, and high schoolers get to enter twice due to the upcoming prom
season. Enter here!

I just clicked on the ad banner at the bottom of my page. Google Adsense I’m not trying to
cheat you. It was an accident!

Also, I just joined Words With Friends. My username is kheeringa. If you want to be a winner,
let’s start a game. You would think that as a blogger I would have a decent vocabulary and
therefore be good at scrabble … but I’m mostly average. Oh, and let me know that you got my
username from SWR (Sidewalk Ready – new acronym ala Rebecca) so I don’t think you’re just
a random. K thanks. Bye.

but REALLY, kayley, you came to the office and puppy chow party to play “words with friends”. i’m over there trying to concentrate on the hilarity, and all i hear is “i just played the word ‘pie’. i think i’m giving up.”

I have to say thank you so much for your blog. I had been following Cupcakes and Cashmere for a few months and had been wishing I could figure out how to translate her clothing inspiration to a more budget friendly ideas and for Michigan weather. When I stumbled upon your blog a couple of days ago, I was thrilled to find a real person putting together awesome outfits from real stores, and for real weather! I think I was hooked the moment you said you were wearing a skirt from your 2005 high school graduation open house. My mom is constantly chiding me for keeping my teenage clothes as a young married woman, but I can’t let go of the possibility of reworking them.

    Thanks for what you do!

Wow! What a compliment! I looove Cupcakes and Cashmere. If I had an unlimited budget, I would pick out every item in her closet. That being said, I don’t, so I make do with what I can afford! I am glad that you are enjoying the blog – you seem to understand exactly what I am trying to do! I appreciate it!

Haha, that’s like when a client is asking in every shot if she looks fat or if that was a good angle for her or if that was a cute picture and then says, “Am I be annoying?”

Of course I say no. And of course it IS annoying. But…it’s my job and I don’t mind doing it even on the occasions that it’s annoying.

    • admin says:

“Do my hands look weird?” “Is this awkward?” “What should I do with my legs?” Bahahaha. If you looked stupid we would tell you before we took the picture.

you look so cute in picture number 1. “i’m going to wear a dress today because i want to, so there!” heh. i seriously don’t know why i read your blog so much. i’m from manila, right around the equator, and your warm-ish weather clothes are still too warm to wear when it’s supposed to be cold here. and when i’m in my hometown, where i can wear a jacket without getting heatstroke, every time i wear anything that isn’t jeans and a t-shirt i get asked “what’s the occasion?” a lot.
so i guess that means your blog is entertaining even without the clothes (hah! i did the same thing you did, see? that’s how dedicated a reader i am.) but i AM looking forward to summer in um… michigan?… so you can teach me how to wear shorts WITHOUT tights.

    • admin says:

Manila sounds lovely! Kai and I will have to visit someday. Heat stroke is my calling! Michigan will get up to 90s sometimes in the summer so you can expect some hot weather outfits … if summer ever arrives.

  6. Rebecca says:

My colleague and I both went without tights or leggings today with our skirts – we had quite the laugh at ourselves since it was colder than we expected! I guess we’re all fondly hoping for our warmer spring weather to just be here already!

    • admin says:

Yeah … I think we got ahead of ourselves with the warm weather mentality … oh well! At this point I don’t even CARE if I’m cold. I’m wearing spring clothes!

    Hi,

I have followed your blog for a while and enjoy the different outfits and the African photos that fit so well with the day’s theme. How about putting some of the new photos on the top header, there are so many great ones.

Love the outfit, and obsessed with the office. I like to pretend I’m Pam and my hubby is Jim :)
